Despite summer drought leading to muted colors, absolutely nothing beats autumn maple trees
Edward Cullen, this means you!
Took D. apple picking for the first time
Someone in Western, MA is tired of leaf peepers!
But nobody is tired of golden leaves in the afternoon light.

Lovely fall pictures!
Cheers,

Love that last photo! What would you say if I told you I knew of a farm outside Paris where you can go apple (or pear, or pumpkin, or...) picking? I'm afraid we may have missed the weather window, though.
Thanks Rosa!
Camille - No! Really?? D. had never heard of it in France before. I want to go!
I love the photos, you're right, nothing beats maple trees, at this time of year the colours are just amazing.
Actually, there is a network of them around France. I spent a solid afternoon figuring which of them were reachable by public transport and this is the one: http://www.cueillettedecompans.fr/
I really want to go, too! Maybe we should arrange a day trip soon. (I just noticed that they have quinces, about which I am inordinately excited.)
Great photos!
